As an affiliate marketer we now are able to market products quite easily, as most merchants supply us with the most necessary tools to, like banners, text ads, reviews,and email swipes. Most of us have the drive and ambition to succeed at affiliate marketing, enabling us to learn and understand how to work with such tools. we can build interesting professional and unique websites, that could potentially earn us a fortune. However, all the time and effort that s gone into building these websites would be wasted if we don t know how to drive traffic to the said sites.
Getting people to view our website can be a difficult task, especially when we consider that we have so many rival marketers out there. So how do we make our self stand out in such a competitive market? Well there are several ways in which to drive traffic to our sites, we can use free methods or paid methods, but what we must do is make sure we learn this aspect of our business, because without traffic we have no business!.
The most important is creating backlinks . For those who may not know what backlinks are, they are links placed on other web pages that direct the browser back to your site when clicked on. There are many ways of creating backlinks, so lets start with some of the free methods.
We can write articles on the same topic as the site you are trying to drive the traffic to, then submit them to as many article sites as you possibly can, usually we have a resource box at the bottom of our article where we can place the links to back to our site. Now if we submit 2 articles a week to 50 article sites we can quickly build up our backlinks.
We can also use social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, a simple tweet or post on these with links back to your site. Also creating backlinks we are serving two purpose s, first being the ever increasing visibility or our site and second improving our search engine page rank, because the robots that crawl the web for the search engines follow all the links that they come across, so the more that s pointing to our site the better. Yes we can just submit our site to the search engines and wait for them to be crawled and indexed, but this is no where near as affective as backlinks.
Then there s press releases pretty much the same as writing articles, only this time it s more of a news report, once submitted to the press release sites we are getting the same affect as we do with articles, creating more backlinks and more visibility. We can then move on to free classified adds just posting a short add with a link to your site can again give your site great visibility, there are hundreds if not thousands of classified add sites out there. You can upgrade your adds to paid features and gain even more visibility on these classified sites. Although these three methods of traffic generation can be time consuming the results are worth the effort put in. There are also ways that we can speed up these methods if your budget permits.
Blog posts turned to rss feeds, antother great way to gain exposure, and create the backlinks, video marketing is a great way too, as many people like to know who your are, by seeing you, you gain their trust and confidence in you. There are of course many other ways of traffic generation, but these four methods are free and very effective.
Why not try out the following marketing strategy for 6 month and see the difference these four methods can make.
Monday: Write article and then blog post submit blog RSS feed to RSS sites
Tuesday: Write article and create video (turn the article into a video)
Wednesday: Write Article and Press Release
Thursday: Write article and then blog post submit blog RSS feed to RSS sites
Friday: Write 2 articles
Using this schedule and you will generate 6 articles a week, 2 blog posts, 1 press release, and one video.
After a month of working no more than 10 hours a week, you will have about 24 articles, 8 blog posts, 4 press releases, and 4 videos.
Submit your articles to 10 sites each and that is 240 sources of traffic to your website.
