Not all area rugs are created equally. Some area rugs are made from inferior materials and are not put together very well. A small square room can be made to feel bigger with the oval shape. An oval shape looks great in a rectangular room, especially when placed lengthwise. A long room will look too narrow if the oval rug is placed sideways across the shortest span of the room.
Blend Or Contrast
If you put the original décor together, the odds are that you already know what color or design to avoid and what will blend into the room s scheme. However, if you want your room to pop, you may want to go with colors that stand out against the room s color scheme in stark contrast. An area rug is one of the few items that can pull this off and look good doing it. It is your room; you can get as creative as you wish.
