Does your complexion show signs of acne damage? What skin treatment are you using? People around the world want to know how to get beautiful skin. One problem, however, is they can’t find an inexpensive solution to fade dark spots, scars, and reduce discoloration and fine lines.

Dark spots, also called hyperpigmentation, is a type of skin damage that sometimes occur with age, over exposure to the sun, post acne, and other times they arise from blackhead scar skin problems.

So what can you do? Having professional cosmetic treatments such as chemical and laser peels is usually very effective, but can be expensive and usually requires a few weeks of healing time. This makes it difficult to carry on your daily routine, unless you don t care that everyone will know you ve had some type of cosmetic procedure done.

A chemical or laser peel can leave your face red, scabbed, or peeling until the new skin forms. But it usually does a fabulous job in clearing up discoloration, wrinkles, and other imperfections.

Is there a less expensive and less damaging way to improve your complexion? Yes, but it won t be as dramatic as professional treatments and will take more time to see results.

The key to removing skin blemishes, imperfections, discoloration, enlarged pores, and signs of aging (wrinkles and lines) is to gently remove damaged cells and increase production of new ones. This helps bring healthier cells to the surface and improves the look of your complexion.

Increasing cell turnover is especially important as we age, because older skin is not able to naturally exfoliate as well as it used to. This is why our complexion tends to look dull and sometimes even blotchy as we age.

We all know it s important to have a daily care routine that cleans and hydrates. But, many people overlook the importance of polishing or exfoliating their skin. Not only will this help to reduce old, dead cells that often cause acne and pimples but it can stimulate collagen production and allow for better penetration of nutrient rich creams and moisturizers.

How to get beautiful skin

There are basically two forms of exfoliation that when used on a regular basis – is kind of a renew intensive skin therapy especially if you have stubborn dark spots, scars, or discoloration. One is a topical fruit acid based or hydroxy acid serum. Mild to moderate hydroxy acids can help increase skin cell turnover, collagen production and clear out clogged pores.

The other is through manual exfoliation using some type of scrubbing cream or buffer. This can give you a nice polished smooth look by reducing rough patches and bumpy uneven skin.

What if you don t have extreme problems acne damage, but want to know how to get flawless skin? Simple, the same principle applies – polish, wash, hydrate.

On a recent Oprah Show, famous dermatologist to the stars – Dr. Lancer – provided some very basic tips for anti aging skin care……simply put – Polish, Cleans, Nourish which makes a lot sense. Polish the skin to loosen dead cells first, than wash to lift and remove debris, then feed the skin with a vitamin enriched hydrating moisturizer. Three simple basic steps which at are so important to get beautiful skin.

Finally, whenever you use any type of exfoliation method – especially hydroxy acids – it is very important to always apply a sunscreen and try to reduce your exposure to UVA/UVB rays. While this is good advice for anyone who wants a healthy complexion, it is especially important for those using anti aging treatments.
