Do You Need More Traffic to Your Blog? Here’s How…

Not a day goes by that I don’t hope for more traffic to my blogs. The problem is that “hope” isn’t going to get the job done. I need certain actions to take and then I need to execute them. I think I have an idea how I can help this process along.

From my perspective I don’t want to be constantly building backlinks. I certainly don’t want to be posting to Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn etc. all day long. I have more profitable things to do. I’m definitely not keen to give Google my hard earned money to bring me traffic at any cost. Videos, articles, forum postings take way too much time especially when you can’t be sure of your return on investment (ROI). In this case the ROI is your time.

So now what? First, let’s speed up your blog’s load time. Speed up my load time you say? Yes. Google let it be known in 2010 that the speed at which your blog loads is now one of the over 200 items they take into consideration when ranking your site. In today’s world of high speed internet connections and low attention span if your blog doesn’t load in 4 7 seconds your reader is gone. Whatever you did to get traffic to your site is a waste because your prospect just left.

There is a free service on the internet to test site load times, Web Page Test.

How many plugins do you have on your blog? Too many or outdated plugins can really slow your site down. You only need a few top notch ones to keep your blog highly tuned up. Use a simple theme on your blog. Too much code, graphics and tables will really slow you down.

How is your linking structure? Is it so out of control that you have no idea what points to where? Simple and meaningful will help with your traffic. Don’t link to pages like About Us, Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy and others. These pages are required by Google not your readers. Links to these pages are zapping your link juice. Save your links for your content and your money pages. A simple javascript will correct these issues for you.

Nofollow tags. These are links you can code so that your external links don’t make your blog sick. A good time to use nofollow is if you are linking to a site you aren’t too sure about. You don’t want Google to associate a “bad” site with your website. A short time nofollow tags were all the rage. That is until Google decided that they didn’t really care. They are not part of your search rankings. The simple rule then is not to use nofollow especially in your internal linking. It will hurt more than help at least in Google’s eyes.

Building backlinks to your important pages will bring you more traffic from the search engines. There is just no way around this one. Using a service for social interaction such as Ping.fm or OnlyWire.com (both free) will definitely generate backlinks for your blog.

Today’s final tip on the mission for more traffic is to listen to Father Google. Refer to your site’s stats either using Google Analytics or the stats program on your cPanel, awstats. Here you’ll discover what keywords or search terms visitors to your site are using to find you. It’s a lot easier to give the crowd what they already want instead of what you think they need. Find out what your best high traffic keyphrases are and use those for anchor text and backlinks. Your traffic will soar.

Don’t just read this article. Implement what you have learned and you will reap the rewards of your hard work.
Author Resource:- Backlinks, keywords, statistics, traffic. What if there was a behind the scenes software that took care of all this for you? There is. Auto Link Juicer (http://www.autolinkjuicerreveiw.com) launches May 17, 2011. You don’t want to miss this.
