Now a question may come to any one’s mind about how to evaluate or test the authenticity of a source. There are a number of factors that together proves a sources to be reliable and worthy of use. Students should analyze the source on the grounds of such factors first.

First of all, the basic thing that every source should possess is the ‘originality’. Plagiarized work is not at all acceptable in land of literature and research. Every article, blog, report, website, etc that contains the relevant material that can assist you to write your term paper should carry the writer’s name and it’s association to an organization. It should also provide a decent track record of the author and its connections to the literary world. It should also give accurate information regarding the date of creation of the article or the very piece of writing that you are looking into. If any of this basic information is missing, it is quite possible that the writer is inclined to hide the original information regarding this content.

After you are done with the first drill and are feeling confident about the originality of the document, now you should give the very content a careful read. Let’s run the ‘accuracy’ test for the content present in the document. Check for the grammatical or obvious spelling mistakes. How about the sentence structure? Is it proper? No slang or broken language is used? It is decently organized? After the language accuracy, check for the accuracy in terms of the content present. Does the information provided blend well with the prior knowledge you’ve about the matter or it contradicts? Does it provide more or less same stats as other reliable sources do? If you are assertive in that regard, it means that the document is accurate.

Now take one step forward and check the ‘authority’. It is an established fact that a writer needs to be well qualified for writing on the topics that are a bit technological or complicated. Look out for author’s credentials. Is he authoritative enough on the very subject he is writing about? Check out the references present to make sure he comes off an authoritative educational background.

Lastly, discover the ‘aim’ of the writing. What message the writer is trying to transmit to the readers. What is the objective of his writing? Are there any derived conclusions based on the facts provided in the document? Are they in peace with the facts that other sources speak of?

Now that you are sure about each and every aspect that we have discussed above, you are eligible to get some assistance from this document in your term paper. Every student should make this a habit to check every source in the ways suggested before selecting it for the future purposes.
