The fixtures that are necessary for you to have in a bathroom include the bath area, the toilet, sink, and a counter top or vanity set. This means that a small room can suffice to be a comfortable bathroom. but, did you know that there is a way for your bathroom to feel and look more spacious despite the fact that it is actually a small room?

Here are the things that you can do:

Compress as much as possible. This step means putting fixtures and bathroom furniture in a place where each one can still perform their purpose but will use as small space. This can be applied with your bathtub and a shower area. Of course, this is already a common design but it is worth repeating. In addition, in the shower area, it will be helpful to install shelves on the wall. These shelves will be where you can place your toiletries.

Instead of having just a medicine cabinet and have all other bathroom fixtures in some other place, you can have a bath vanity of an appropriate size. It will contain all the items that you are using in your bathroom. Also, have bath vanities that have shelves on top for extra space and easy access to the things that you mostly use.

You can also focus on using the right bathroom and shower room doors. Bifold doors are best to use for a small room as they require the smallest amount of space.

Remove excessive accessories. It is acceptable to have items like a carpet, scented candles, and other artifacts. But, they may only cause more harm than good if your bathroom only has a small space. If you are having trouble with trying to make your bathroom look more spacious, these things can be the first ones that you can remove from the room. Some items may be placed inside cabinets or on shelves inside the bathroom when not in use. These items pertain to your hairdryers, shavers, and other things that you frequently use in the bathroom.

Be careful with colors. The color that you will be using to paint your bathroom will be an important factor. Dark colors can have the ability to make the room look smaller while lighter shades can be used to successfully make the room look like it has more space.

White is still a good color to use. Other alternatives for colors that can add an illusion of space into the room include light shades of blue, green, and yellow.

More importantly, avoid using prints and shapes when painting your bathroom walls or when choosing tiles and accessories for the room. These designs will further make the room look more cramped.

Be smart, go convertible. It can be quite difficult to find bathroom furniture that are convertible into another item. But, when you do, the benefits are immense. Examples of these can be drawers or cabinets in the bathroom which may double or be transformed into vanity sets. Some designs even include chairs into these furniture items.
