Security Lockers

Security lockers are used by police and military personnel to store gear, clothing, and belongings. These lockers feature adjustable shelving that can be set to any height. This allows the user to store equipment at the top of the locker, and gear, uniforms, and even weapons in the larger, bottom section of the locker.

Users can trust that their equipment is safe thanks to the rugged design of these lockers. Heavy duty all welded design is essential to the overall security of the storage unit. Knockdown lockers can be pried apart because they require assembly of separate parts that are held together with nuts, bolts, and screws,

This is not the case with all welded security lockers. The all welded design creates a single, contiguous metal surface with no weak points or sharp edges that can be pried open. The sides are formed to be integral with the front vertical frame. Channel stiffeners are used to reinforce the underside interior to make them extra strong.

Further security measures are provided by the door handle design, which features a heavy duty three point turn handle locking mechanism.

Most military bases and police departments prefer to have locker storage systems manufactured with combination locks built in. However, these lockers can also be fitted with separate padlocks if so desired. Organizations and barracks that order built in combination locks can have the lockers keyed so authorized personnel and commanders can access the units if appropriate.

The adjustable shelves are really the one attribute of security lockers that make them ideal for so many applications. Each unit comes with one built in adjustable shelves, but more shelves can be added to accommodate specific storage needs. Being able to move a shelf to any desired height makes it possible for military personnel and SWAT team officers to store advanced weaponry and specialized equipment.

There is plenty of space in the main vertical tear that will allow these items to be arranged and retrieved at ease. The upper cubby that the top area above the shelf creates allows for smaller personal item storage or small special equipment organization. Some commanders use this section to store sensitive documents.

Security lockers are also used in many schools where vandalism and security are a problem. Athletic departments cannot afford to have gear stolen or lost. The corrosion resistant metal these storage units are made from make them ideal for locker room environments. They have proven ideal for football teams, baseball teams, basketball teams, and lacrosse teams all over the country. Many track and field departments also use these lockers to store equipment for specific track and field events.

Security lockers can be ordered in a solid sheet design or a perforated design optimized for ventilation. Both are equally secure, however, a solid design is better for preserving the confidential nature of locker contents. Ventilation is only necessary when locker contents are sweaty or wet and require airflow to dry out. In some situations too, heat sensitive materials are better stored in a ventilated locker than a solid one.
