Basically, these regulations are related to safety and suitability of the landscape.
Know your soil. Plants are integral parts of a landscape. And, you would want them to live as healthy as possible. This can be made feasible with proper consideration of the soil by which the plants will be put in. Different types of plants thrive differently in a specific soil type. So, you should only plant those that can grow healthily in the existing soil mixture.
Plan for the change of seasons. This will not only be applicable for plants but also for the structures that you have present.
