Bathroom Essentials Keeping Everything Organized For A Growing Home

For a single person living in a house, the bathroom can be easy to organize. All the items that you need to put in there are for the use of one person alone. However, the story will be different if the bathroom needs to be used by several people or by a whole family. The organization process becomes a little trickier.

You can start with your medicine cabinet. This has to be one of the most important items you have to have inside your house. You need to make sure that you have everything that you can possibly need at times of health emergencies. Medications will be on top of the list. Have pain relievers, antihistamines, medications for the heart, high blood pressure, and a lot more depending on what you family needs. Since asthma is common among children, you might need to store bronchodilators and other drugs for asthma as prescribed by your physician for your sick child. Also, there should be first aid kits complete with bandages, disinfectants, cotton applicators, and a lot more.

All these items will be placed inside a single cabinet which is situated out of a young child’s reach but allows for fast access.

Add drawers, hangers, and shelves on the wall to hold your bathroom items. Electronic devices such as shavers and hair blowers can be placed inside drawers of your bathroom vanities or you have hang them near bathroom mirrors for easy access.

The shelves and the drawers can be for towels, toiletries, and other products. Shelves located high on the wall can be good to have as they can keep your bathroom items dry and they clear up the space underneath.
Dry and wet towels also need to be separated. Unused towels can be kept inside the drawers or shelves. While the wet ones can be hung on towel hooks inside your bathroom.

On top of the vanity counter will be your most commonly used products. These can be makeup for women and vanity items for men. Categorize them according to use or who uses it. Also, they will belong to the items that you use on a daily basis, other than that, you need to store them in another place. If there are some items that you rarely use, just keep them inside drawers to clear up space for other more important items.

When you have makeup and other bathroom products that are more than a year old, it is safest for you to throw them out. Most of these items would already be expired and they will only cause you harm if you continue using them.

The shelves where you put your toiletries while you shower also need to be properly organized. Only place items that you are frequently using. Empty containers need to be thrown out immediately.

Lastly, it is wise if you can use up any space inside your bathroom. Especially if your bathroom has a small area, remember to add hooks at the back of the door or a few inside your bathroom’s wall. Just make sure that you do not crowd the area with too much items hanging inside.
